God’s Word Versus The Media

President Trump is not lying when he says that the media is fake.

No matter what your political stance is, please acknowledge the fact that the mainstream media has morphed into an industry for selling the latest and greatest tall tales instead of trustworthy news stories. What used to be considered reputable sources for information now leave their audiences questioning their every word. In times such as this, who are we to believe? Who can we trust to tell us the truth?

“Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.”
-2 Peter 1:20-21

Well, God gave us a huge book to go by. In fact, if you really dive deep into its contents, the Bible speaks of controversial topics going on in today’s society and how we should go about dealing with them. The Bible tells us how nations can prosper, and how they can fail. The Bible tells us that Satan will attempt to deceive the world with false information, and that we should hold fast to God’s Word when lies run rampant. You know, that kinda sounds like the world we’re living in today.

The Bible wasn’t conjured up by man, so it’s not just a book with 66 distinct mini-books full of interpretations from random guys. Yes, the Bible was penned by men, but God instructed them in what to write. I’m entirely convinced that if the Bible was solely written from the minds of men, if Christianity and God were made up aspects of religion, that they would’ve been completely banned a long time ago. I mean, look how the mainstream media is portraying Christians today. If it’s just a made up religion, how is it still going strong? How are Christians experiencing miracles every single day against adversity? Because God’s got our backs, that’s why.

Sorry, I went off on a tangent XD .

“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:”
-2 Timothy 3:16

Okay, so we’ve established that the Bible comes from God. God created this world a long, long time ago. The first humans were Adam and Eve, who disobeyed God and brought sin into the world. Therefore, God sent His Word to guide us through this wicked world, and to lead us to His one and only Son, Jesus Christ. According to this verse, God’s Word–The Holy Bible–is designed to be a source of news for us. The Bible’s purpose is to instruct us with its infallible doctrine, to correct us when we’re wrong, and to lead us to righteousness. That is literally the purpose of it, and I don’t know about y’all, but it has never once led me wrong or lied to me. Now, consider your local news stations, the national news stations, Twitter and Facebook feeds, etc. I could probably name at least a dozen lies I’ve seen¬†within the last hour. The mainstream media no longer cares about truth or accuracy, nor do they care how many lives they harm for the sake of making a profit.

You know what God gave up to reveal the truth to us? He gave us His Son. His Son died to save us from our sins, and yet people are willing to believe a national news source instead of the Bible. Just think about that.

Goodnight everyone, and God bless!

Christianity’s Got Talent!

Sometimes we may feel useless,

but God has blessed every one of us with a talent.

One thing I’ve noticed while growing up in church is that we as Christians often rank one another by our abilities or talents. For example, if someone has a phenomenal singing voice, they are often held with high regard. On the other hand, you may have been blessed with the gift of patience or working with people (which often implies the same thing, let’s be real XD ), and feel like your gift isn’t as great. Sometimes we may feel that our abilities aren’t as useful for serving God as those that are used in praise and worship services, but God has blessed every one of us with a talent that will help us serve Him in our own unique way!

“As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.

If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.”
-1 Peter 4:10-11

What the verse above is saying is that we have to choose to serve God according to the gift He has bestowed upon us, and be thankful for the gifts we have. Some of us may very well be phenomenal singers and choose to serve God through choir, praise and worship teams, etc. Some of us may have the gift of public speaking, where God will lead you to speak for crowds and spread His Word to the masses. Some of us may be writers *cough* perhaps people like me *cough*, where God has called us to spread His Love through the written word. Some of us may be good caretakers, allowing us to take care of the needs of others who are less fortunate. Some of us may be historians and lawyers who actively stand up for Christian beliefs. Some of us may be something as simple as a good friend to anyone who needs one. Whatever your gift-and there are far more out there than what I’ve listed-God gave it to you for a reason. I challenge you to discover that reason.

Don’t Dismiss Your Gift!

¬†“Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.” -1 Timothy 4:14

We’re not called to gripe and complain about our gifts; we’re called to honor God with them! You may feel that your gift will amount to nothing at all, but you’re wrong! Remember Philippians 4:13 (shoutout to my boyfriend’s favorite verse, y’all! XD ):¬†¬†“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” God provided you with this ability, and He will provide you with an outlet in order to use your ability to honor Him if you’ll allow Him.

I used to think that writing was a pretty useless gift. I mean, when I was growing up, I never found a way to honor God through writing at the church I attended. But during the past few years, I’ve discovered that it wasn’t my ability getting in the way-it was my attitude about my ability.

Personally, I feel that God has blessed me with the gift of writing in order to spread His word on this blog, and through my fiction works (P.S. Go check out my new author site if you’d like: Authoring Arrowheads!). ¬†Feel free to comment with how you’re using your gifts to spread the Word of God!

Goodnight and God bless!

God Can’t Be Defeated

After all the protests, whining, and bigotry from left-wing “activists” lately regarding Christianity, I feel the need to speak the truth on all matters, whether that includes feminism, abortions, Trump, Hillary, Bernie, or what have you.

God WILL NOT be defeated.

The indisputable and infallible fact is that there IS a God in Heaven, and He reigns Supreme. No matter what kind of slurs or insults you come up with, no matter if you hold up signs saying, “If Mary had had an abortion we wouldn’t be in this mess,”, no matter if you cuss, scream, cry, kick and set the entire world aflame, you cannot change the fact that God is your Creator and that He has dominion over you.

God Created You

“For by Him were all things created, that are in Heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him:

¬†And He is before all things, and by Him all things consist.”
-Colossians 1:16-17

Whether or not you want to acknowledge the fact, God created every single one of us. We did not evolve from monkeys or pond scum, or whatever else scientists like to conjure up. Likewise, whether or not you agree, God is in charge of all things. This means that He-and only He-holds the authority to determine our fate.

God Does Not Hate Sinners. He Hates Sin.

¬†“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.”
-John 3:16-17

As the verses above explains, God hates sin so much that He sent His one and only Son to earth as a sacrifice for our sins. Before Jesus died on the Cross, people who sinned had to make sin offerings to God on altars. Jesus died in order to make an intercession for us, to wipe us clean of our sin if we humble ourselves and accept Him as our Savior. The only cost to us is that we have to do our best to honor God and turn away from sinful nature.

That’s the problem with our society. People are too proud to turn away from sin. People don’t like to acknowledge that they’re accountable to a Supreme being. People would rather riot and cause a scene in defiance than simply casting their cares on God.

God Will Win… Whether You Agree or Not.

Don’t Believe Satan

“And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.”
-2 Corinthians 11:14

It’s no wonder that so many people in this world fall into and promote sin; Satan disguises himself as an angel of light! Another way to say this is that Satan poses as morally superior to God. But, he’s not.

¬†“And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.”
-Revelation 12:9

You see, Satan started out in Heaven. However, he attempted to overpower God, so God cast him into our world. Satan has been furious ever since, and attempts to lure as many people as he can to follow him. How does one follow Satan? Through living in, promoting, and tolerating sin.

“He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.” -1 John 3:8

I suggest if you want to know the absolute truth regarding what constitutes sin, that you read the Bible for yourself. I’m not going to write a list of things just to have someone comment something along the lines of “you came up with this list, you intolerant Jesus freak. God would never judge us for doing that!” But remember, we’re all sinners. No matter how you’ve sinned, Jesus is always willing to save you. All you have to do is ask and repent.

God Will Beat Satan

“Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.”
-John 12:31

This verse is a quote from Jesus Himself. The prince of the world will be cast out when God determines it’s time to judge the world. Who is the prince of the world?

“And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,

And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.

And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.”
-Revelation 12:7-9

Satan’s the prince of the world right now, but he won’t be forever. Therefore, don’t follow him!

I’m not writing this post as an opinion piece. God’s existence is not a fable, nor a product of a religious cult. I did not write the verses referenced above; they have been around for centuries. I’m writing this post to stand up for God in a world that is running farther away from Him every minute. I’m writing this post to reach that one soul who might hear the Truth of God’s Word and dismiss the lies mainstream media wants us to believe. To whoever is reading this:

  • God LOVES you
  • God wants you to love Him as well
  • If you love God, you’ll obey His commandments
  • If you love God, you’ll allow Him to guide you
  • If you love God, you’ll trust His word over the media’s
  • Satan’s a liar
  • You can escape from Satan’s grasp and live for God any time, anywhere

Good night and God bless!

Gift Card, Not a Coupon

Before I begin this blog post, I would like to apologize for my extended absence from Jesus: Be My Escape over the last few months. Back in November, I began exploring means of publishing a fiction novel. Although my manuscript was accepted by a Christian publishing company, I declined their offer, as they were asking for a large sum for “marketing” purposes. Therefore, I’ve spent Christmas break getting the novel ready to self-publish through Amazon’s CreateSpace. However, during my absence, I feel as if I have strayed from my call of ministry through this blog, and my heart wasn’t right with the Lord throughout this time. Nevertheless, God has now led me back to where I need to be.

‚ô•

Sin is expensive…
but the price has been paid for us.

Okay, so I’m a total weirdo when it comes to talking (what, with being socially awkward and everything, but that’s a different story for another day XD ). I’ve received a bunch of gift cards for Christmas, and every time I mention using one of them, I end up saying, “oh, I’ve got a coupon for that!” instead of gift card, because for some reason I get the words mixed up. This morning, I took a moment to think why I mix the two words up. Coupons are certificates that, for the most part, only pay a portion of your cost. Conversely, gift cards are certificates that generally pay your cost in total. Then… *drumroll* I realized we do the exact same thing as Christians when considering Salvation.

Jesus Didn’t Die for a One-Time Offer

Fellow Christians, God–our Heavenly Father and Almighty Creator of the Universe–did not send His one and only Son to die for us simply for a “one-time offer”. I mean, what would be the point of that? As humans, we are sinners by nature. We don’t just mess up one time; we mess up multiple times, sometimes on a daily basis. Why then do we sometimes think that the gift of Salvation only covers certain, “minor” sins?

”¬†If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” -1 John 1:9

Notice that I applied bold formatting to the words “all unrighteousness”. This verse clearly states that Jesus’s gift of eternal salvation is not a cheap coupon deal; Jesus paid the price of our sins in its entirety on the cross, as stated in the what is arguably the most famous verse in the Bible:

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” -John 3:16

Again, notice the bold type. If you believe that Jesus Christ was sent to earth to die for our sins, then you receive a gift card, if you will, that grants you everlasting life. This gift card comes in the form of the Holy Spirit abiding in you after you accept salvation. The amazing part? This gift card never expires. There is no limit. However, that doesn’t give us the right to continue to sin as we please. We must seek to please God in all that we do. I mean, if we would rather seek to please ourselves, wouldn’t we be violating the terms and conditions of our gift card?

¬†“Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.” -Acts 3:19

The Terms and Conditions for eternal salvation through Jesus Christ are as follows:

  • Admit: Admit you are a sinner and are in need of a Savior.
  • Believe: Believe that Jesus Christ is the Savior.
  • Confess: Confess to the Lord that you will follow him and will seek to abide by His Will.

It’s as easy as ABC. ūüėÄ

So, to recap, the debt of your sins is not greater than what Jesus is willing to offer. There is no limit to Jesus’s gift card. As long as we continually seek to honor God’s commandments, believe that Jesus is our Savior, and avoid sin¬†we have met the terms and conditions and will receive a never-ending supply of eternal salvation.

That sure beats all of those store gift cards, huh? XD

God bless!

An Open Letter to Our Next President

Dear Madam or Mister President,

As a millennial, a soon to be college graduate, and a Christian, I have been keeping a close eye on this election on the basis that the outcome will either benefit or detriment my transition into adulthood. To be quite honest, America’s current state seems to be becoming more and more like a dystopian novel with each passing day. Criminals are claimed to be innocent, while the innocent are claimed to be criminals. Instead of turning the other cheek when we get offended, we now sue one another for monetary gain for the most asinine reasons. God, Jesus, and Salvation are considered controversial subjects only mentioned by “religious bigots” who are only out to “brainwash” others with their “close-minded” thinking. A nation that was founded on religious freedom is now only allowing freedom for religious groups that denounce God, Jesus, and Salvation. We live in a country that considers it cool to register your religion as “Jedi”, but horrific if you so much as pray to God on a football field after a game. Madam or Mister President, I’m not asking you to grant my wish to fix all of these things while you’re in office; I’m simply asking you to look to God for guidance, and not act solely based on left-wing or right-wing agendas.

“Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.”

-Proverbs 14:34

My favorite past president, Ronald Reagan, famously stated, “If we ever forget that we are one nation under God, then we will be a nation gone under.” Oh, I bet former President Reagan is rolling in his grave as you presidential candidates are fighting like this election is one big reality show. You focus on tweets. You focus on past accusations. You focus on wigs. You know what I’ve heard very little about during the presidential debates? How you’re¬†going to make America a GOD FEARING NATION again. As of right now, America’s on its way under. The more we adhere to and legalize the foundations of sin, the further we will fall. Madam or Mister President, do you want to see us crumble completely, or do you want to build us up, to truly make us great again? Well, the only possible way to do that is to lift America’s burden off your shoulders, and to place it in the hands of our Almighty and very capable God.

“If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
-2 Chronicles 7:14

The key thing to remember here is that we as a nation, and you as a leader must humble yourself before God in order to help our country prosper again. This doesn’t mean that Hillary is the supreme queen or that Donald is the reigning king. This means that you will seek guidance from the Lord, not from Congress. This means that you will bring prayer back to public places, not incorporate more safe spaces. This means that you will promote godly media more than that of sinful content. You will treat your neighbors as yourself. You will lead others to righteousness instead of encouraging one another to turn away from God. As President, if you truly want to make an (let’s be honest, GOOD) impact on America, you will allow God to take your place as the leader of the free world, and you will allow Him to guide your actions as commander and chief.

Goodnight, and God bless!

Edit and Save

Over the last week, I’ve been doing a lot of editing on one of the novels I’ve been writing. ¬†I’ve been working on this novel for several years, and I just realized about a year ago that I no longer liked the direction it was taking. ¬†Therefore, I’m now taking the initiative to edit the work I’ve done so far, and rewrite the parts that I wish to change. ¬†Throughout the editing process, I can’t help but think of the fact that Jesus goes through the same type of process with us once we ask for forgiveness.

Editing

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” -2 Corinthians 5:17

Jesus begins the editing process in us whenever we accept His gift of eternal salvation, which we can do by asking Him to cleanse us of our sins and guide us in our daily lives. ¬†Whenever we ask Jesus to do this for us, He talks to God and makes intercessions for us, and works with us to transform our behavior from that of a lost sinner to that of a new creature in Christ. ¬†The editing process for new Christians is not an easy one, due to the fact that Jesus will guide you through some extreme changes to keep you from falling back into sin, if you ask Him to do so. ¬†For example, if you are friends with people who are involved in drugs and alcohol, Jesus will work with you to end those relationships. ¬†It may seem as if you’ve lost a lot whenever you delete these friendships; I know that’s how I sometimes feel when I delete a portion of a story that no longer works with my new plot ideas. ¬†Nevertheless, whatever we lose will be no where near as wonderful as what we will gain through Christ.

“For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.”
-Romans 8:18

Saving

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
-Romans 10:9

The word Salvation literally means “a source or means of being saved from harm, ruin, or loss.” ¬†Therefore, while Jesus is editing out our old sinful behavior, He is also saving the work He’s doing every step of the way. ¬†Whenever we ask Jesus to forgive us from our sins, He doesn’t forget about His promise the next time we mess up, and doesn’t revoke our salvation privileges when we sin again, no matter which sin it is. ¬†Jesus remembers the fact that we’ve asked Him to come into our lives and transform them, and that acknowledgement stays with Him forever. ¬†No, this does not give us the right to sin as we please once we ask Jesus for salvation; that’s where the editing process comes in. ¬†As long as Jesus knows that deep down we fear the judgment of God and truly want to live to please God despite our slip-ups, then He will always be willing to continue cleansing our sins.

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.” -John 5:24

We Can’t Do This Ourselves

The thing about life is that we can’t go back and edit our pasts ourselves. ¬†If we could, there would be many people I would go back and avoid talking to in my past, ¬†and I would lead myself away from situations that have caused me to sin against God. ¬†But, we don’t have that ability for a reason. ¬†God allows us to go through difficulties and sin in order to show us that we need to rely on Him and His guidance instead of our own. ¬†God doesn’t let us have the power to edit and save our own lives, because that’s the very reason He sent Jesus to die on the cross years ago.

¬†“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
-John 3:16

Sometimes, we’re going to think about our pasts and cringe with regret, wishing we could go back and change what happened ourselves. ¬†If you are a born-again believer in Jesus Christ, don’t fret, for He has already done that for you! ¬†Jesus has edited your heart and saved your soul, so you no longer have to worry about all of the evidence of sin you’ve left behind in the past, because He has deleted it from your file once you asked for salvation!

Good night, and God bless!

The Brainwashing Myth

Yes, I am a Christian.

No, I was not brainwashed.

A common misconception about Christianity is that Christians are members of a cult who have been brainwashed into believing in the gospel by the generations that came before them. ¬†As a Christian, I can testify this ideology to be false, as I made the decision to follow Christ on my own at the age of eight. ¬†Naysayers may be thinking, “well, I’ve heard of people getting beat with the Bible if they chose not to believe,” or, “my parents kicked me out of the house because I don’t agree with their Christian beliefs.” ¬†To that, I have one thing to say: ¬†people who actually do force the gospel on others and give them the ultimatum to either believe or be hated are NOT true followers of Christ, and therefore are a false representation of what the gospel truly is. ¬†The gospel doesn’t call us to “brainwash”. ¬†The gospel calls us to be servants of Christ.

It’s Their Choice to Believe, Not Ours to Make For Them

“But avoid foolish and ignorant disputes, knowing that they generate strife. ¬†And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient,¬†in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth, and that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will.
-2 Timothy 2:23-26

If you have a close relationship with someone who confesses to you that they do not believe in salvation through Jesus Christ, it can be difficult to accept their decision.  You will want to try your best to convince them that they are wrong for rejecting Christ.  You may get offended when they make fun of your belief in God.  You may get angry if they decide to argue against the fact that God exists.  Nevertheless, under the circumstances, it is imperative that you keep your composure.

Let’s refer back to the verse above:

“A servant of the Lord must not quarrel, but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient, in humility correcting those who are in opposition…”

If we want to make a difference in the life of a non-believer, let’s start by planting a seed of God in them by mirroring the actions of Jesus instead of letting Satan rile us up. ¬†When a non-believer sees a Christian become irate if someone doesn’t agree with them, it reinforces the stereotype that Christians like to beat the gospel into one another; however, if a non-believer is offered the gospel in a respectful way, they will notice the light of Christ in the believer, and the seed may be watered.

“…if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth, and that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will.

When you’re gardening, if you go through all of the motions to plant a seed and then snatch it back out of the ground seconds later, there is absolutely no chance of you reaping a crop. ¬†The seed has been forced away from its decision to either produce a crop or remain dormant, which has rendered it dormant forever. ¬†Conversely, if you take the time to properly plant the seed, water it, tend to it, care for it, then you at least have a chance of garnering something from it later. ¬†Of course, the seed still has a possibility of remaining dormant, but at least you’ve provided it with the opportunity to accept life if it so chooses.

*Cough* The same thing applies to spreading the gospel!!!! *Cough*

If the plant is to grow, it will grow under the right conditions, i.e. God allowing someone to come to their senses about Him. ¬†On the other hand, some seeds will remain seeds forever. ¬†Some plants won’t grow; that’s just a fact of life.

But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.”
-2 Corinthians 4:3-4

As Christians, we are called to minister to those who are lost. ¬†By answering this call of duty, we have to realize that we are not called to force this belief on non-believers by attacking their beliefs, growing angry with them, or showing hatred towards them. ¬†When I was little, I remember watching a cartoon that stated that plants need sunshine, water, and love in order to grow. ¬†Nowhere in that equation does it say that we need to beat non-believers with the Bible in order to get them to believe in God. ¬†Instead, let’s use love, and hope that God will see fit to provide the sunshine and water for the non-believer to be able to grow in their belief in Him.

Goodnight, and God bless!

Let’s Start a Love Riot

In the midst of all of the people who have spoken about the race riots in America, Benjamin Watson is the only one who has made total sense.

Last night, as I was watching The Kelly File with my family, we were appalled at the mass destruction going on in Charlotte, NC due to the race riots that have been going on for the majority of the week. ¬†We saw videos of rioters setting things on fire, writing expletives on police cars, and fighting one another. ¬†I was beginning to think that society couldn’t get any worse than the tensions currently going on in our country, but then Watson appeared on the screen, offering a message of hope to Americans:

“Obama can’t save us. ¬†Mrs. Clinton can’t save us. ¬†Mr. Trump can’t save us. ¬†The only one who can change the heart of man is the Lord.”
-Benjamin Watson

The issue in America right now isn’t solely a police brutality issue, a race issue, or any other controversial issue that one can fathom up. The paramount issue in America, the issue that will always set the undertone for all of the other problems America is going through, is that we need to rely on God and not on America.

Let’s put faith in God, not the government.

Whenever there’s an issue within America, to whom do we turn? ¬†Well, the list could go on for miles: ¬†news stations, local government, state government, court systems, federal government, the U.S. Supreme Court, etc. ¬†And what do we get when we turn to America’s many systems of “aid”? ¬†Short-term, band-aid fixes that will eventually cave in on themselves. ¬†Because wrongs are not truly redeemed but are stamped with “guilty or not guilty” or “lawful or unlawful”, lessons are not learned. ¬†Inevitably, history will repeat itself, just as we are currently witnessing with the police versus Black Lives Matter riots across the nation. ¬†The only way to redeem our wrongs as a nation, to forgive one another for past transgressions, and to bring a sense of peace to America is to seek guidance from one source: ¬†God.

“I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;¬†For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.¬†For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;¬†Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.”
-1 Timothy 2:1-4

Let’s seek Jesus as our method for peace, not protests.

Just as Americans turn to the American government and media in their times of need, they turn to riots and protests when they are let down. ¬†Earlier, I mentioned that if we as Americans, (or any nation to be honest), seek guidance from earthly means, we will inevitably be disappointed with the outcome. ¬†Likewise, if we turn to riots and protests in order to “bring peace” to our nation, we will again fail miserably. ¬†Posting pictures supporting the police doesn’t bring peace to our nation. ¬†Protesting in the streets and destroying everything in our paths won’t bring peace, either. ¬†Just as there is only one source for guidance, there is only one source for peace, and that is through Jesus Christ.

“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”
-John 16:33

This world is a vessel filled with evil, and people who believe that we’re doomed to be stuck in this wasteland. ¬†The truth is that we don’t have to be confined to the horrid nature of this world, for in accepting Jesus Christ as our source of peace, as the Savior of our nation, we will have a life of joy in Heaven to look forward to after our time in this world ends. ¬†So, will you join me in putting our differences aside, and loving one another as our brothers and sisters in Christ instead of siding with a certain team, as if humanity were a sports rivalry?

Let’s start a LOVE RIOT! ¬†Let’s LOVE one another as Christ LOVES us!

“Violence shall no more be heard in thy land, wasting nor destruction within thy borders; but thou shalt call thy walls Salvation, and thy gates Praise.”
-Isaiah 60:18

Goodnight and God bless!

Give God a Chance

For God so loved the world…

If you’ve grown up in a Christian family or have accepted Christ as your Savior, I’m sure you know how this verse ends. ¬†I know my past posts have been directed more towards encouraging Christians to actively seek God and live to reflect His love to others, but this week I want to reach out to the non-believing community: ¬†atheists, agnostics, those who practice other religions, and those who are just curious. ¬†Don’t fret, I’m not going to debate why Christianity is the superior religion, because I know that talking down your beliefs does not enhance my own. ¬†And, if I’m being completely honest, Christianity isn’t a religion; ¬†Christianity is a one-on-one relationship with God, made possible through intercessions made by Jesus Christ.

For God so loved the world, He’s had all of us in mind from the beginning.

“Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.”
-Jeremiah 1:5

Long before you were ever conceived, God had you in mind.  God created the world, and He has specifically designed the timeline of earthly events, as well as the people who participated in them.  God knew each of our names well before our parents named us, and knows each of our destinies, because He has already created plans for our lives.

Now, you may be thinking, “if God is so all-knowing and has already made a plan for my life, then why hasn’t He stopped me from denying Him so far?”

For God so loved the world, He gave us the gift of Free Will.

“A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the Lord directeth his steps.”
-Proverbs 16:9

Free will, in my opinion, can best be explained like a Sims game. ¬†When you play the Sims, you are essentially the creator who designs different people and instructs them to do different tasks throughout the game. ¬†Despite this, sometimes the Sims engage in behavior that you did not tell them to do, such as go online and chat with other Sims when they’re bored, play fetch with the dog, etc. ¬†Likewise, God allows us to have the same freedom to choose what we want to do with our lives. ¬†So, if you are living in a way that doesn’t have anything to do with Christianity or following God’s commandments, then it’s just because you made that decision. ¬†If God wants to intervene in your life and redirect you to the path of righteousness, He will. ¬†Saul persecuted¬†Christians before God physically knocked him off his horse and directed him to righteousness (Acts 9). ¬†The thing is, God doesn’t make you choose to follow Him while on earth; that decision is entirely up to you.

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
-John 3:16

Everyone born on this earth is a dirty, rotten sinner. ¬†Everyone, whether Christian, atheist, ¬†or what have you, has lived outside of the commandments of God at some point in their life. ¬†The difference between Christianity and the many religions of the world is one simple thing: ¬†accepting Jesus Christ as your Savior. ¬†God sent Jesus Christ to be born on this earth many years ago so that we could be redeemed from our sins if we choose to be. ¬†God gives us a choice to believe or not believe, with the belief being that Jesus died on the cross at Calvary as the most unselfish sacrifice in history to cleanse all of humanity from everyone’s individual sins if they so choose to let Him. ¬†Jesus was sent by God to bear the burdens of sin for everyone who is willing to accept that gift. ¬†By the way, that gift is free, and entails this promise:

“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”
-Isaiah 41:10

God doesn’t offer you His gift of salvation to punish you. ¬†God only wants to help you if you’ll help yourself by accepting Jesus as your Savior. ¬†You have nothing to lose in the matter, except for selfish pride. ¬†To belong to God, you must be willing to admit that you can’t navigate life solely on your own merits, that you need a higher being to guide you and to take away your afflictions.

For Jesus so loved you, that He took the punishment, even if you were the only one that would benefit.

Goodnight, and God bless!

Author’s Note:

If you feel led to accept Christ as your Savior, feel free to comment, and I will be happy to talk to you about your decision. ¬†If you still do not feel led to accept Christ, then I respect your decision. ¬†I would like to point out that I will be deleting any comments that are intended to start a debate about religion, or those that are demeaning Christianity. ¬†I did not demean anyone’s beliefs in this post, so I expect commenters to respect my beliefs as well.

We Blame Society, But We Are Society

Whatever happened to “In God We Trust”?

This phrase was adopted by The United States in 1864 when it first appeared on American currency, and it only took us roughly 150 years to run that once meaningful motto into the ground. ¬†I’ve only been on this earth for a little over two decades, and have witnessed our country, as well as society, continue to falter with each passing year. ¬†Americans claim that they can’t stand to watch the news because the media lies and “they only show negative things”, yet they fail to realize that our media is a product of what we allow in our society. ¬†Everyone seems to wonder why America seems to be caving in on itself within the last few years, but are blind as a bat to the answer:

“In God We Trust” has been left in the dust.

“For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.

For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.

But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.”
-2 Peter 2:20-22

We’ve turned from God’s commandments of us, and like a dog, we’ve returned to our own vomit.

How exactly did America sweep God under the rug? ¬†Well, I’ll tell you a little secret… Christians of the United States, we’re the ones to blame. ¬†Now, before you all get high and mighty on me saying things like, “I vote Republican! ¬†I vote against the legalization of certain sins!” or, “I go to church every Sunday!” or whatever else, know this: ¬†just because you participate in typical Christian-like activities does not mean you present yourself as a Christlike person to the world. ¬†Yes, there is a difference.

I don’t know about yours, but my hometown has a lot of church pew/bar stool people, meaning that they live on a fence between following Christ and following the world. ¬†Not to say that I, or others, don’t sin. ¬†We all get wrapped up in sin from time to time. ¬†The difference that I’m referring to here is discovered through daily choices. ¬†For example, two churchgoers who claim to be born-again Christians are provided with an invitation to a party that will have a plentiful supply of drugs and alcohol. ¬†The church pew/bar stool person would willingly accept the invitation, go to the party, and then show up at church a couple of days later feeling no remorse. ¬†On the other hand, the Christian who is honestly trying to live in order to please God will not partake in those activities, period. ¬†Likewise, a worldly churchgoer would vote for legislation that will make them popular from a societal standpoint rather than for a law that honors God’s commandments. ¬†Therefore, the blame for society turning away from God falls on the church pew/bar stoolers, the ones who can’t paint a clear picture for others of what Christianity really is because they don’t know it themselves.

“Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.

Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.

Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.

He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.”
-1 John 3:4-9

The only way to bring a God-centered focus back to our society is to first acknowledge our problem of pretending to know God while still reveling in sin, and then doing something about it. ¬†Right now, I’m calling for Christians¬†to reflect on their daily choices, and to close off the paths that have caused them to go astray.

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
-2 Chronicles 7:14

Fellow churchgoers, we can’t expect society to change from its wicked ways if we are not willing to begin that change within the church! ¬†Fellow Christians, we can’t expect evil to repel from the world if we keep allowing it within ourselves! ¬†Fellow Americans, if we want our country to be great again, we must seek God again!

Goodnight, and God bless!
